Coleman 6 Person Instant Tent Review Very Affordable & Express Setup

If you are going to get a pop up tent for sleeping and camping make sure you get one like the Coleman pop up tent that is waterproof and can hold up against the wind. I highly recommend Coleman instant tents and I still use my little 2 person one to this day. Normally I put the tent on top of my gear so it’s easy to access when I get to where I’m camping but it can be placed in the bottom and have lighter things like sleeping bags and clothes placed on top. I wasn’t sure about the 49.5 inch circle the Coleman pop up tent folds into and how it would fit with all my other gear in the trunk of a car but it lays flat and doesn’t take up hardly any space.

I love that all I have to do is pull it out of the storage bag, remove the elastic strap that’s keeping it from flying open, and just let the pop up tent go. The instant tent folds into a circle and comes in a zippered storage bag that has two carry handles. There are a lot of great things about the Coleman 2 person pop-up tent that not only make it super easy to transport and set up but also make it a great instant tent overall. The Coleman 2 person pop up tent is also perfect for kids as well.

There are great models on the market, both for kids and for adults, see some of them here. One set of bunk beds for adults and one set for kids will fit easily, and you will have almost one-meter wide corridor in between. Have any more questions about the Coleman pop up tent or instant tents? Not all pop up/instant tents are waterproof, some are just water-resistant.

Weight and packed size for the Instant Tent 6 are 24.9lb and 48”x9”x9”, so it’s certainly a hefty tent that will take up a decent amount of space in your trunk. However, it’s very easy to unpack and pack away with respect to its travel bag, which we consider much more valuable. In the setup category, the coleman instant tent 6 is a true standout amongst our 2021 review, and we were quite impressed with what it could do.

This 6-person tent offers enough room for two queen size air beds and comes with integrated storage pockets to help you keep small items organized. And when it’s time to go home, the camping tent packs away securely in the included expandable carry bag that lets you tear away the rip strip for easy packing. In this Coleman 6 person instant cabin tent review, we unveiled the secrets of the tent. It’s more suitable as a good four person instant tent, it’s pretty easy to set up, the pole structure may be weak and the WeatherTec system isn’t great for rain and difficult weather. Coleman isn’t mincing words when they call this an instant tent. The advertised setup time is a blistering 60 seconds, and we found that this was not an exaggeration—even if you start the clock with the tent still inside its travel bag.

For the price, you’re getting high-quality materials with a stable structure, plus the darkroom aspect is a huge advantage. On the other hand, I needed to close all my windows in the Coleman Instant Tent, and there are no vents inside the tent. After just 15 minutes of heavy rain, I found quite a bit of leaking from the seam connecting the bathtub flooring to the black tent fabric. For the heavy rain test, I found that the length of each Coleman tent’s rainfly really affects how long it stays dry under heavy rain.

When you’re ready to leave, it packs down effortlessly into the carry bag. This bag is expandable, which means stuffing the tent inside is much easier and doesn’t take as much effort. In just one minute, you can have this tent up, with a few extra minutes left to secure it down with the guylines and stakes. An affordable and functional instant tent, perfect for entry level and occasional campers. On the other hand, I think it’s better to go with the Coleman Skydome Tent, if you don’t need the instant set up mechanism and the cabin shape.
