Cuisinart TOA60 Air Fryer Mini Oven review

An even more miraculous ability is the Cuisinart’s air-frying function. Instead of cooking with oil, an air fryer uses really hot air to the same effect, yielding food that’s just as crisp and golden but without the grease (though you can add a little oil for extra crunch). I’ve used it to make mini frozen pork dumplings oil-free, which came out crunchy and hot cuisinart air fryer oven in less than ten minutes. The Cuisinart’s toast function also works as well as, or better than, a stand-alone toaster, and its ovenlike design makes it easier to toast open-faced sandwiches or enough English muffins for three. I have yet to use the convection and broil settings, but it’s only a matter of time before quarantine cooking compels me to do so.

The Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro comes with many accessories, including two wire racks, a broiling rack, a baking pan, a pizza pan and an air frying/dehydrating rack. Designed to match other Cafe brand appliances like the Cafe fridge, coffee maker and more, this Couture Oven with Air Fry will make a statement on your countertop. In addition to the matte black design with rose-gold colored knobs, it also comes in white and stainless steel. Aesthetics aside, this air fryer toaster oven performed well in our tests. Air fried wings took 20 minutes to crisp evenly, released from the air fryer basket easily and stayed juicy.

A microfiber cloth damp with a mild soap solution did the trick and the outside only needed a quick wipe-down and dry. The oven rack and crumb tray had to be handwashed (easy) while the baking/drip pan and air fryer basket cleaned up in the dishwasher (easier). One of our most important and telling toaster oven tests is simply making toast. We fill the rack with bread three times and toast them on three different settings.

How long each cook time was for the “medium” preset on each oven varied rather significantly, ranging from over six minutes for the Calphalon to just three and a half for the Ninja. As it was, these two produced the most even and attractive toast that corresponded to the preset, but the Ninja (winner!) did it in half the time. The Breville, KitchenAid and Crux barely toasted the bread at all when set to medium — which simply means you’d have to use a darker setting — while the Cuisinart over-toasted the bread. This is the oven I’ve used most since I owned it even before my wider testing began. The Crux has a formidable air fry function, fairly consistent temperature control, a compact size and it looks nice, too. The Cuisinart Digital AirFryer Toaster Oven Retails for around $300.

What’s more, with just four simple dials it’s certainly uncomplicated, in fact there’s little need to look at the instruction manual. I did though and it’s worth reading through the tips on how to get the best from each function as well as for recommendations on shelf positions and there are some recipes too. If you need even more space to air fry, Philips also offers their Avance XXL air fryer which has a 3-lb/4-Qt. This spacious fryer can easily handle a whole chicken or two bags of fries. Above is over 2 lbs of frozen french fries and 3 lbs of chicken wings (the maximum capacity for the Philips Avance XL Air Fryer).

We evaluated how easy it was to set up and use and how convenient it was to clean. We also looked at what customers who bought it have to say and compared it to other popular air fryers, ovens and Cuisinart products. The Cuisinart Digital AirFryer is a toaster oven and an air fryer with multiple other functions like proof dough, dehydrate, and reheat.

It shares some of the features we liked in the Philips, such as a large, 5-quart square basket and a streamlined control panel, though it doesn’t cook as evenly. Over the next few days, we air fried hand-cut French fries and roast potatoes, which were golden brown, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Theoretically the air basket and baking tray combination allows air to circulate right around the food, so there’s no need to toss halfway through. However, we did find that a quick toss midway through cooking helped to brown food more evenly.

Air frying typically uses a maximum of 1 tablespoon of oil to coat the food, making it a much healthier option compared to deep frying. Not only does it offer a healthier way to fry food, but it’s also a great appliance for making quick & easy meals for the whole family. I used two bone-in and skin-on chicken breasts — seasoned only with salt — to try out the roasting function.

Breville won the fry test with perfectly golden fries in six minutes. I set the Ninja to a slightly lower temp (390 F) per its manual and in eight minutes had perfect fries (a very close second place and it likely would have won or tied if I’d set it to 450 F). KitchenAid also took eight minutes on 450 F, while the Crux took nine minutes to get there and the Calphalon took 12.

As far as air-frying goes, the Breville did a great job on the french fries and chicken wings we tested. It did take a bit longer to cook (approximately 10 minutes longer compared to the other air fryers). cuisinart choppers I think this is mainly because the Breville Smart Oven Air has more space to heat up. Along with its larger space, the air-frying basket is huge — it holds almost two and a half pounds of french fries.
