Personally I like to use more natural solutions to clean floors like Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Soap. And like with any machine, proper maintenance is key. The Bissell multi-surface floor cleaning formula is great for cleaning all sealed floors like wood and tile as well as area rugs, giving you a virtually streak free clean.
So long as the bleach is diluted, there are no components in your CrossWave that the solution can damage. You can use bleach in your Bissell CrossWave as long as you dilute the bleach to an appropriate level. Keep in mind that this solution may not be bissell adapt ion pet ideal for all parts of your home and can end up staining some surfaces. This solution should be mixed with the water inside of the clean water tank. There are also specific cleaning solutions available for hardwood floors, area rugs, and pets. The Bissell Crosswave is a versatile, wet-dry vacuum that gives users the ability to vacuum, sweep, and mop at the same time. The Crosswave dominated our cleaning tests, removing nearly 100% of all dry and wet debris types. The only major con is it cannot be used on carpets, so it’s not really a whole home cleaner. That said, for all hard surfaces and area rugs it provides exceptional cleaning performance.
Putting it together was simple—I slid the handle into the main body, filled the clean water tank with warm water and cleaning solution, and then I was ready to go. The spinning mop brush and dirty water tank were already installed. The PowerDash isn’t really a vac-mop, which is something we didn’t fully understand until we tested it. (Ditto for the similar FloorMate, though we did not test that model.) The PowerDash does have suction to slurp cleaning solution, but the intake isn’t designed for solid debris. This machine is more of a dedicated floor scrubber—though even at that, it didn’t work as well as the true vac-mop combos that we tested. It left behind grime that the Bissell CrossWave plug-in and Tineco iFloor3 could easily collect.
While Pine-Sol is considered a multi-surface cleaner, there are still some surfaces it shouldn’t be used on. Some of these surfaces include aluminum, copper, and marble. It was the BISSELL® CrossWave® All-in-One Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuum . I won’t mention the fact that she sprang this new toy on bissell floor cleaner me right as I was grabbing her old mop to do the floors, or that some assembly was required. Generally does a good job although does leave smears when the floor has dried.
But you might void your warranty in the process and/or damage the unit, so be careful. If you do use a different cleaning product I would suggest something extremely gentle. Like the idea of washing your rugs– If you like the idea of being able to mop your floors and wash your area rugs with the same Bissell unit, the Crosswave could be a great option. Additionally, the purchase of aBissell Crosswave Pet will contain the multi-surface pet cleaning solution instead of the standard multi-surface cleaner included with the original Crosswave.
